The Middlesex County Emerald Society was organized on July 22, 1993. The society is made up of Law Enforcement Officers and career Firefighters from across the county who are 1/8 Irish. The society is designed to be social, fraternal, and cultural organization.

New Jersey has a rich ethnic heritage and the Irish contributed greatly to that. We feel that there are a great number of men and women in Law Enforcement and Career Firefighters in this county who would be interested in participating with us in celebrating our Irish heritage. We encourage all who are eligible to join us.

Membership in the Middlesex County Emerald Society is open to all Municipal, County, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Officers and Career Firefighter who are 1/8 Irish. You may be employed outside of Middlesex County and still be a member.

Middlesex County Emerald Society is a member of the New Jersey Grand Council of Emerald Societies, which represents the 12 counties that have a County wide Emerald Society. We are also a member of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies, which represents over 25,000 emergency service personnel in the United States and Canada.
