PHDS
Members serve on the Promoting Hamilton District Schools committee with business people and
residents to identify and address community needs. Providing clothing to the
Rape Crisis Center at RWJ Hospital is an ongoing project.
Post Graduation / Post Prom Nights
Members support the effortrs of the PTAs to provide a safe, drug and alcohol free party for students by
making monetary contributions, chaperoning, and advertising these events.
Professional Growth
Members regularly enroll in college courses and attend workshops and seminars
to keep current with educational and technological advances.
Parent Education
Members provide workshops to familiarize parents with skills and strategies
taught in school programs such as Peer Mediation, Conflict Resolution, Peace Programs,
and Skills for Adolescents.
Candidates Night
The H.T.E.A. hosts a forum for the public to meet and question all prospective board members.
College Scholarships
Members support deserving graduates from all three high schools by contributing to scholarship funds.
Clothing / Food Drives
Members, district-wide, assist local families in need during
the holidays and throughout the winter season by conducting these collections.
Curriculum Development
Members serve on district committees to improve, update, and enrich curriculums after
identifying needs and assessing current programs.
Charitable Activities
Members participate in local charitable events such as the Archor House Bucycle Ride, Jump
Rope for Heart, and the March of Dimes WalkAmerica.
