About A. J. Pone Opticians
A.J. Pone Opticians has been a family owned and operated business since 1963, which makes it the area's longest
standing, independent eyeglass dispensary.
Founded by Al Pone, the company is now owned and operated by his sons David and Dennis who are both New
Jersey Licensed Opticians. Bill Hutchinson, also a New Jersey Licensed Optician, has been a full-time employee of
the company since 1987.
Dave Pone has been in the optical industry since 1977. His optical education came from Camden County College
and the National Academy of Opticianry. He gained valuable experience in the wholesale optical industry before joining
his father in the retail sector. Dave is a fellow in the National Academy of Opticianry and is a member of the New
Jersey Opticians Association. He is also certified by the American Board of Opticianry and is a certified Contact Lens
Technician. Dave is a licensed ophthalmic dispenser as well as a licensed technician.
Dennis Pone has been in the optical industry since 1980. He is a graduate of LaSalle College. His optical
education came from Camden County College's Opthamalic science program. He also has completed the 100-hour Principles
of Refractionary Program at Raritan Valley Community College and is a member of the New Jersey Opticians Association.
Dennis is a licensed ophthalmic dispenser as well as a licensed technician.
The foundation of Bill Hutchinson's career as a licensed Optician is his associate's degree in Opthamalic
Science from Camden County College.
